This is an early 19th century, two-storey and basement house located at 1 Victoria Street, Kirkpatrick Durham. It is constructed of painted rubble with polished stone margins highlighting the corners and window openings. Steps lead to a doorway with a moulded cornice above, featuring a recessed door and fanlight. The windows are single-light plate glass sashes, with a small, recessed door to the left of the main entrance. The first floor has three windows, and a moulding runs along the eaves, topped by a mutule cornice. The house has corniced end stacks, flat roof slopes, and a slate roof. The rear elevation features four-pane sash windows, along with a modern, two-storey brick bay extension in the centre. The building is part of a group of buildings of group value with the Post Office Savings Bank and the Masonic Hall located at 1 St David Street.
