Description
Lake Cottage is a later 19th century, two-storey house with an irregular plan and three bays, finished in painted render with painted margins around the windows.
On the entrance elevation, there is a central corniced doorpiece featuring a recessed timber door and a letterbox fanlight. Ground floor windows flank the door, with aligned windows above on the first floor that break the eaves to form gables.
The rear elevation includes a modern single-storey wing. The house features 10-pane sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, stone skews, gablehead stacks, and polygonal chimney cans.
The interior was not seen in 1999.
The property is enclosed by boundary walls made of rubble, with drumpiers topped with domed caps, and there is a rubble outhouse to the west.
