Description
73-77 English Street is an early 19th-century, three-storey tenement that includes a public house and a wide gated passage at ground level. The building has a symmetrical design with five bays and features a pediment above the central three bays, which includes a semi-circular headed blind window. There are paired square flues located over the apex of the roof. The exterior is finished in painted ashlar. An entablature above the bar front connects to an off-centre pilastered doorpiece, which is situated next to the passage on the left end where the entablature has been raised. The second floor has a cill course and a cornice. The windows have been reglazed with single-pane sashes. The building has end stacks and a slate roof.
