Graveyard And Well, St Columba's Old Parish Church, Kirkcolm

The graveyard at St Columba's Old Parish Church in Kirkcolm dates back to the 18th century or earlier and is located at the site of the former Kirkcolm Church, which is in the center of the graveyard. It features headstones from the 18th and early 19th centuries, along with two burial enclosures to the west.

One of the burial enclosures is a classical style structure from the late 18th century. It has a rectangular plan and includes a boundary wall to the west. The enclosure is unroofed and constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings, including margins, quoin strips, and slab coping at the wallhead. There is a central doorway on the east side, topped by a pediment that has a blank recessed panel in the tympanum. Recessed panels are located on both sides of the doorway, with the left panel containing an ashlar inscription panel, although the inscription is now completely illegible.

The second burial enclosure, dated 1797, is built of rubble and features an ashlar inscription panel in the gablehead, commemorating the Rose family.

The boundary wall surrounding the graveyard is made of rubble with rubble coping and includes two square rubble piers to the south.
