Description
Garlieston Lodge, located within the Galloway House Estate, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is a single-storey lodge with a modern rendered addition at the rear that includes a basement. The original front is constructed from bull-faced ashlar and features rusticated quoins. The design is asymmetrical, with a projecting gabled porch on the right side. The entrance has a basket-arched doorway with a rusticated surround. On the left side, there are bipartite and single light windows, while the gable walls have tripartite windows. All windows are hoodmoulded and include stone mullions, with casements that have diamond-pane glazing. The roof is covered with slate and has saw-toothed sandstone skews, along with a central corniced ashlar stack and cast-iron rainwater goods.
