Description
Ae Bridge, completed in 1784, is a road bridge designed by bridge builder Alexander Stevens. It features two segmental spans over the water of the Ae, with a downward slope towards the north bank. The bridge has a pointed central cutwater on either side, which continues upwards to serve as a pedestrian refuge. It is constructed with rubble and ashlar voussoirs, and has a blocked and ramped base course with a low parapet that is widened at the approaches.
