Description
Beechwood Lodge, also known as Kirkmichael House, Parkgate, is a single-story lodge dating from between 1857 and 1881, likely designed by William Burn or his practice. The lodge is constructed of rubble with contrasting red ashlar dressings. The north elevation features a central door and an advanced gabled bay to the right, with a decorative panel in the gablehead. A narrow gable is situated off-centre on the west elevation. The roof is slate-covered, with apex stacks featuring diamond flues and projecting eaves. Curved, low quadrant walls extend from the lodge, terminating in octagonal gatepiers. The statutory address is The Barony Beechwood Lodge.
