Description
Dalfibble Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse built in a layout resembling an ‘L’. It is two storeys high and originally comprised three bays. A full-height wing to the rear (north) creates this L-plan. The farmhouse is constructed of whitewashed rubble stone with contrasting painted ashlar dressings. The south elevation features a central, pilastered doorpiece with a rounded-headed doorway, a panelled door above a fanlight, and twelve-pane sash windows. Ridge stacks are present, and the roof is covered in slate, with a piended design. Two-bay wings extend on either flank. The rear wing is asymmetrical and incorporates some bipartites (windows divided into two). A single-storey wing is attached to the north, beyond the main farmhouse. The steading (farm buildings) is not part of this listing. The farmhouse may have been designed by Walter Newall.
