Description

Wamphray Bridge is a road bridge built around 1777, likely designed by Alexander Stevens. It features a single segmental arch over Wamphray Water and is constructed from rubble with red ashlar dressings. The parapets are splayed at the approaches and include domed circular terminal piers. The bridge sweeps upwards and is supported on square corbels above the arch. The roadway slopes downwards from south to north.
