Description
Laverhay is an early 19th century farmhouse with later additions, featuring a two-storey structure and a steading to the east. The building is constructed of rubble and white-washed, with ashlar dressings and painted margins, and the roofs are covered with graded slates.
The house consists of two adjoining two-storey ranges arranged in a T-plan, each with a central gabled porch. It has sash windows throughout, mostly with four-pane glazing, and the north gable features skews with end stacks.
The steading includes a long low range with roof ventilators that adjoins the north gable of the house. There is a principal detached range to the east of the house, primarily single storey but taller at the west end, which serves as a barn. This range has two doors, two small lights, and two loft windows facing south, with a loft door on the banked northern elevation. Additionally, there are two detached single storey ranges at the southeast, one of which has twin gables, linked by a midden wall.
