Description
Wamphray Parish Hall, dated 1849, may include some fabric from 1777. This plain, rectangular-plan, three-bay former church features round-headed openings and small-paned windows with intersecting traceried heads. The exterior is made of whitewashed rubble with painted ashlar margins. A tall doorway, which has a modern door and an altered fanlight, is centrally located on the west wall below the datestone. Margined squared ventilators are positioned beside the side windows. The building is topped with ball finials at the gable apex, a central ridge ventilator, and a slate roof. An added harled lean-to with a timber porch is located on the east gable.
Inside, there is a central plaster ceiling rose, but all church furnishings have been removed.
