Description

Marykirk Bridge, designed by Robert Stevenson between 1811 and 1814, features four segmental arches with a span of 58 feet. The bridge is notable for its finely channelled ashlar pier-cutwaters, rough ashlar spandrels, and wing walls. It also includes fine ashlar dressings, voussoirs that are alternately raised in a hood-mould, and recessed circular panels at the spandrels.
