78 Dalkeith Road, Edinburgh

80 Dalkeith Road in Edinburgh is a pair of classical houses built in 1829. They are two stories high and feature four symmetrical bays. The exterior is made of polished cream sandstone ashlar, with rubble on the sides and rear. Architectural details include a base course, advanced cills, an eaves course, a cornice, and a blocking course raised above the advanced central bays.

On the entrance elevation, the central bays contain doorways with panelled doors. The door at No 80 has a plate glass fanlight, while No 78 features a multi-paned fanlight. Above these doorways, there are single windows on the first floor. The outer left and right bays also have single windows on both floors.

The windows are timber sash and case, with variations including 4-pane, 12-pane, and plate glass styles. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, with a rendered wallhead stack located to the south.

The interior was not seen in 1996. The property features low coursed boundary walls along the street, with replacement railings and stone piers topped with pyramidal caps located between the houses and to the south.
