Description

Probably John Lessels, circa 1870. L-plan; single storey; 3-bay gate lodge with Scottish Baronial details; modern extensions to the rear. Cream sandstone ashlar. Base course; shouldered-arch architraves to windows; gabletted crowsteps.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central doorway to pedimented porch at re-entrant angle; panelled door; blank inscription panel to porch; advanced bay to outer right with crowstepped gable; central, roofed, 4-light canted window; cable moulding to deep cornice; carved stone finial and recessed panel with cable moulding above; bipartite window in bay to outer left.

Plate glass, timber, sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; tall octagonal, corniced wallhead and ridge stacks; gabletted skewputts.
