Woodville, 20 Laverockbank Road, Edinburgh

Woodville is an early 19th century, simple classical, two-storey, three-bay house set in a large garden featuring an avenue of limes. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with droved ashlar dressings, and random rubble on the sides, including long and short quoins. It has a base and first-floor cill courses, as well as an eaves cornice.

The south elevation has a regular arrangement of windows, with projecting cills on the ground floor. A Doric porch features an entablature and blocking course, with a tablet at the center, and a timber panelled door topped by a decorative fanlight.

To the west, there is a modern conservatory attached. The rear section of the house appears to have originally been a single storey, now extended with harled walls on the first floor.

The windows are timber sash and case, featuring a 12-pane glazing pattern, and the roof is covered with graded grey slates. There are no visible stacks.

The boundary walls are stone-coped and slope down to the gatepiers, which are corniced, painted stone with pyramidal caps.
