Description
32 Main Street in Balerno is an earlier 19th-century building that stands three stories tall and has a rectangular plan with a two-bay gable facing Main Street. The exterior is made of stugged, squared, and snecked sandstone, with stugged quoins.
On the north elevation, which leads to a narrow pend, there are four bays at the ground level featuring modern doors, and a window is located at the center of the first floor. The east elevation, facing Main Street, has a symmetrical two-bay gable with a broad apex stack.
The building features 12-pane, plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, and ashlar coping on the skews. The broad coped apex stack does not have any cans. The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1993.
