Description

Mid 19th century (two building campaigns) with late 19th century shops. 2-storey and attic 5-bay pair of houses with advanced single storey shops at ground. Cream ashlar sandstone. Raised architraves; cornice and blocking course.

Doors with fanlights to penultimate bays of 2-storey terrace approached through open passage between shops; scroll-bracketed, architraved and keystoned round-arched overthrows with consoled cornice to street; original cast-iron gates. 3 3-bay shops with recessed doorways at centre; consoled cornice, plate glass windows and slender corner columns. No 36 modernised.

At 1st floor, slightly advanced broad end bays with canted windows and piend-roofed canted dormers. Rubble gables; that to E angled at rear.

Further 2 shops at ground to E; No 34 3-bay; No 32 2-bay (modernised).

Timber sash and case plate glass windows to 1st floor. Grey slates; ashlar coped skews; corniced ashlar stack to W, others rebuilt.
