30 Madeira Street, Edinburgh

26 and 28 Madeira Street is a three-storey, six-bay tenement building dating from around 1840, with later alterations. It features an ashlar base course, a band course above the ground floor, a cill course at the first floor, and a cornice with a blocking course. The windows are arranged in a regular pattern, grouped in threes.

On the ground floor, there are doors located in the bay to the right of centre and in the centre. To the left, there is a broad two-bay pend with a dividing wall, featuring panelled pilasters facing the street, a cornice, and an applied panelled parapet that has a plaque at the centre depicting a relief of a schooner. Decorative cast and wrought-iron gates are hung on square cast-iron columns at each pend.

On the far right, above the band course, the inscription "KYLE PLACE MADEIRA STREET" is carved into the stone. The building has eight-pane timber sash and case windows, grey slate roofing, and ashlar coped skews and stacks.

Additionally, there is a low wall to the right with wrought-iron railings.
