11 Smith's Place, Edinburgh

11 Smith's Place is an early 19th-century, two-storey terraced house with a basement and a later flat-roofed attic addition. The house features a classical design with a sandstone ashlar front, which is droved at the basement and first floors. There is a band course at both the principal and first floor levels, and a cornice at the second floor. The principal floor has channelled rustication, with voussoirs above the door and window openings. The entrance door is located in the right bay, and there are projecting cills at the first and second floors. The attic addition has bipartite windows.

The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a four-panelled entrance door with a fanlight above, and a modern door in the centre bay of the basement. A cast-iron gutter and downpipe are positioned to the right.

Weathered stone steps lead down to the basement, with a wrought iron handrail. A coursed rubble wall with a coping runs along the street, topped with modern wrought iron railing.
