Bell's Mills House, Bell's Mills, Belford Road, Edinburgh

Bell's Mills House is a classical villa built around 1780, located on Belford Road in Edinburgh. The building is two stories high and has three bays, featuring a symmetrical design with a later small single-storey wing to the left (south). It is constructed from coursed and squared random rubble, with some droved ashlar quoins and painted ashlar surrounds. The eaves have a corniced course and a shallow blocking course above. The main entrance is centrally located and has a narrow rectangular fanlight with a corniced surround. The windows on the east elevation have deep moulded architraved surrounds, and there are three small rooflights.

On the west (rear) elevation, there is an advanced curved stair tower to the left (north) and a prominent nepus gable off-centre to the right (south), with irregular fenestration. The windows are predominantly 12-pane timber sash and case. The roof is pitched, featuring broad sandstone copes and a sandstone ridge, covered with grey slates. The gable end stacks are coped rubble, with some octagonal clay cans, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was remodeled in 2008 by The Burrell Company Ltd to serve as a modern residential dwelling.
