War Memorial, Main Street, Kirkliston Village

The War Memorial located on Main Street in Kirkliston Village was built around 1920. It is a classical obelisk design set on a square rusticated pedestal, which stands on a stepped ashlar plinth. The memorial is made of pink sandstone and features raised panels on each side of the pedestal. The main panel facing west is framed by a wreath-like swag in high relief and is inscribed with the words: "Erected by public subscription by the inhabitants of Kirkliston, Newbridge and Westerton Districts to the memory of officers and men who fell in the Great War 1914-1919." The right panel lists the names of privates, while the left panel contains the names of captains. The rear panel commemorates those who fell in World War II, inscribed with "1939-1945" along with the names of the fallen. The base of the obelisk features a double concave moulding and raised panels on each side. The neck of the obelisk is adorned with a corner cornice moulding, topped by a ball finial.

Additionally, there is a boundary wall made of curved snecked rubble with ashlar coping.
