Description
3 and 5 High Street in Kirkliston is a two-storey block of two houses, built around 1830. It has a rectangular plan and forms the end of an irregular terrace. The first floor features a symmetrical arrangement with three bays, while the ground floor has five asymmetrical bays. The building is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar margins and has stugged quoins at the eastern corner.
On the north (main) elevation, the entrance door for number 3 is located at the center. To the right, there are paired windows and a door for number 5, all unified under a sandstone lintel, with the windows sharing a raised cill. At the center of the first floor, there is a blind margined window, with additional windows on either side.
The property has modern uPVC windows and replacement doors. The roof is covered with grey slate and features ashlar coping at the skews, along with broad, corniced gablehead stacks.
