Description
44 Candlemaker Row is an early 18th century building that had its front reconstructed around 1900. It is a two-storey and attic shop or restaurant. The front elevation is painted, while the rear is constructed of random rubble. The entrance features a two-leaf timber panelled door with a small-pane glazed fanlight above it. The flanking windows have small-pane glazing on top and plate glass below. There is a cornice with bolection moulding at the ground floor level, and a wide canted window on the first floor. The attic includes a long dormer added around 1900. The rear of the building is single storey.
The building has stone skews and is covered with grey slates. It also features a corniced rubble ridge stack with circular cans.
