10, 12 Braepark Road, Edinburgh

This house at 10 and 12 Braepark Road in Edinburgh dates from around 1900 and features a symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay design in a simple classical style. The exterior is finished with whitewashed harl and includes timber detailing beneath the overhanging eaves, flush painted cills, and a consoled doorpiece.

On the south elevation, the entrance features a central two-leaf timber panelled door with a plate glass fanlight above. The doorpiece is adorned with flanking consoles, engaged pilasters, and a cornice. There are tripartite windows on both floors in the outer left and right bays, and a bipartite window on the first floor directly above the entrance.

All openings have 8-pane timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with graded purple-grey slate and has harled ridge stacks at both the east and west ends, raised string courses, and single circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1996. The boundary wall along Brae Park Road features round-arched coping made of random rubble sandstone, with square-capped gatepiers flanking the entrance and a replacement timber gate.
