Description
70 and 72 Grassmarket is a late 18th-century, four-storey and attic tenement building featuring six bays and a shop on the ground floor. The building has a four-windowed nepus gable with an apex stack. The exterior is finished in droved ashlar, which is painted on the ground and first floors. The shop front has been modernized. Above the shop, the windows are regularly spaced and have projecting cills. The upper floors feature later four-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are corniced end and apex stacks with circular cans.
