62 Grassmarket, Edinburgh

60 Grassmarket in Edinburgh is a five-storey, four-bay plain classical tenement building dating from around 1800, with alterations made by John Masterton in 1880. The ground floor features shops, and the building is constructed from droved ashlar, which is painted at the ground level. Above the shops, there is a cornice, and a polished cill band is present on the first and third floors, with projecting cills on the second floor. The building has an eaves cornice and a blocking course at the top.

To the left, there is a shop front with a decorative bracketed cornice, which is now in poor condition as of 2000. The entrance to the flats is located in the center and features a door with a letterbox fanlight above it. The upper floors have regular fenestration, with timber sash and case windows that have 12-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are corniced end stacks with circular cans.
