1 Spylaw Bank Road, Edinburgh

This building at 1 Spylaw Bank Road in Edinburgh is a later 18th century, two-storey, three-bay house designed in an L-plan. It features a pitched roof with wallhead stacks and has a single-storey addition at the angle of the side. The exterior is made of painted, harled rubble with recessed painted ashlar window margins and ashlar-coped skews. The windows are arranged irregularly, and there is a timber panelled front door located in the wing.

The house has timber sash and case windows with 4-pane glazing. The stacks are coped and corniced, some with octagonal clay cans, and the roof is covered with graded grey slate.

Additionally, there is a boundary wall made of ashlar-coped random rubble to the south and a broad similar retaining wall at the front (east) of the house.
