24 Bellfield Street, Portobello, Edinburgh

24 Bellfield Street is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay classical terraced house that has undergone later additions and alterations. It features squared sandstone with stugged ashlar dressings, a base course, and a weathered eaves course.

On the principal elevation facing southeast, there is a pilastered and corniced doorpiece at the center, which includes end rosettes on the entablature and a fluted lintel. The entrance consists of a deep-set, two-leaf panelled door set in a round-arched opening, topped by a semicircular plate glass fanlight. Above this, there is a window on the first floor. Originally, there were single windows in each floor of the flanking bays, but these have been replaced with tripartite windows in the bay to the right.

The northwest rear elevation features a two-storey harled extension on the left and a further single-storey extension at the center. The house has 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a new slate roof, and coped apex stacks.

The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1994. The boundary walls are rendered with coping, and there are tall painted gatepiers topped with urn finials.
