Description
20 Bellfield Street is an early 19th-century, two-storey, two-bay house located at the end of a terrace in Portobello, Edinburgh, with a later addition. The building is constructed from squared sandstone with droved ashlar dressings, featuring a later canted window and a harled extension at the rear.
On the southeast (principal) elevation, there is a panelled door on the left side with a rectangular fanlight made of plate glass above it. To the right, a full-height later canted window has stop-chamfered arrises and is adorned with a broad band course and cornice.
The northwest (rear) elevation includes a modern two-storey platformed extension at the southwest end. The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass. The roof is half-piended, covered with grey slate, and features a squared render apex stack.
The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1994. The boundary wall is rendered and topped with coping.
