9 Bath Street, Edinburgh

9 Bath Street is a classical terraced house built around 1820, with later additions and alterations. It is two stories high and has three bays. The front is made of finely droved ashlar with polished ashlar dressings, while the rear is constructed from rubble. The building features a base course, a cill band course at the first floor, a mutuled cornice, and a blocking course.

The principal elevation is almost symmetrical, showcasing a round-arched doorpiece in the outer right bay. This doorpiece includes a deep-set panelled door flanked by inset Doric columns, a frieze, and a cornice, with a segmental plate glass fanlight above that spans the opening. There is a window at the first floor and in each remaining bay.

The rear elevation has single-storey extensions to the outer bays. The windows are plate glass timber sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate, and there is a piend-roofed extension on the left side at the rear. The mutual stack with No 7 is rendered, while the mutual stack with No 11 is made of ashlar.

The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1994. The boundary walls are made of squared rubble with coping and now feature modern railings.
