Description
Bathiebrae is a pair of single-storey and basement villas built in 1849, notable for their unusual design. Each villa features projecting pediment-gabled end bays with octagonal Doric column porches, which have been glazed at a later date, located in the re-entrant angles. There is one window for each house positioned between the porches. The exterior is finished in stugged ashlar with small stop-chamfers at the angles, cavetto cornices, and blocking courses, along with finials at the straight skewed gables. The windows are 12-pane sashes. The roof is slated and includes a central pair of diagonal shafted chimneys. The rear elevation is constructed of rubble and has been considerably altered.
