Description

Curriebank is a sizeable L-plan neo-Jacobean villa built around 1850, which was later enlarged to the west in the same style. The original part of the building is two storeys high and features dormer heads. It has a stugged ashlar front with hammer-dressed quoins and a porch located in the angle, which includes a late Georgian style fanlight. The roof is slated, with straight skews and skewputts, and there are chimneys with a pair of diagonal shafts and a projection gable finial. The later addition matches the original style but does not have hammer-dressed quoins. The original part has 12-pane sash windows, while the addition features only 6-pane upper sashes. There is also a coachhouse from the later 19th century, which has a piended and platformed roof, along with a loft dormer door made of timber that includes a weathervane.
