Description

Bridge No. 15 on Baird Road, Ratho, was designed by engineer Hugh Baird around 1820. It is constructed from coursed, squared, and stugged sandstone, featuring an ashlar string course and coping. The bridge has a single-span segmental arch with slightly battered abutments. The arch is made of ashlar voussoirs and includes a projecting keystone that is inscribed with '15', although this inscription is obscured by modern piping that runs along the west and east sides of the bridge. The structure is topped with a coped parapet.
