Description
This building, located at 29, 31, and 33 Warrender Park Road in Edinburgh, dates from around 1880 and is a four-storey, six-bay tenement block featuring Baronial architectural details. It is constructed from squared and snecked cream sandstone, accented with polished ashlar dressings. The building has a base course, a cornice above the second floor, an eaves cornice, and a corbel table at the third floor that steps down to the second floor at the center. The doorways are roll-moulded, with panelled doors and plate glass fanlights, and the reveals are chamfered. The third-floor windows break the eaves.
On the entrance elevation, there is a hoodmoulded doorway to the right of the center, with a segmental-arched panel located at the center between the first and second floors. There are doorways in the second and fifth bays, with single windows above them. The third-floor windows feature pedimented dormerheads and stone finials. The third and fourth bays have bipartite windows, and the third-floor windows are crowstepped. The outer left and right bays have full-height canted windows that are corbelled to square at the crowstepped gables. Roundels are set in the crowstepped dormer and gableheads. The windows are plate glass sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and features corniced mutual stacks.
A low saddleback coped wall lines the street. The interiors were not seen in 1991.
