Description
6 and 8A Hope Park Square in Edinburgh is a former villa, said to date from the mid 18th century, although it may be older. It showcases Scots Baroque architecture and is part of a three-sided terraced square. The building is three stories tall and features three windows. The central entrance has a round-shouldered doorpiece with a cornice that reflects late 17th century design. The second floor has arched windows with hood moulding. The roof has a low-pitched curvilinear gable with scrolled ends, although the scroll on the west side is hidden. The principal elevation facing the square is rendered.
