Description
1 Hope Park Square in Edinburgh is a tenement block built around 1849, designed in an L-shape and forming the west side of Hope Park Square. The building is three stories high and features pedimented dormer heads. The sections at numbers 3 to 5 have been raised to a full three stories later on. The exterior is finished in stugged ashlar with raised margins and includes a first-floor cill course. The building has a one-window piended gable with raised quoins facing North Meadows Walk. Number 1 has three windows, number 2 has two windows, and numbers 3, 4, and 5 have three windows each, with one unaltered bay that has a segmentally arched pend. All the entrances have simple corniced doorpieces, and the roofs are slated. The fronts of numbers 3, 4, and 5 facing Meadow Lane are constructed from informal rubble and feature a forestair.
