165 Clyde Street East, Helensburgh

165 Clyde Street East in Helensburgh is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay symmetrical villa. The exterior is harled with ashlar dressings, featuring an eaves lintel course, raised margins, and quoin-strips.

On the south elevation facing Clyde Street, there is a pilastered and pedimented doorway with a fanlit modern timber door, flanked by a window on each side. The first floor has three symmetrically placed windows. The east elevation, which faces Adelaide Street, is blank and gabled.

The north elevation at the rear has a curved stair block at the centre with a cat-slide roof and a doorway on the east face. The west elevation is gabled, featuring a window on the outer right at both the ground and first floors, with a modern house adjoining the centre and left.

The villa has plate glass sash and case windows, with modern aluminium replacement windows at the ground level on the south side. The roof is covered in grey slate, with two slate-hung piend-roofed dormers on the south side and a small rooflight in between. The skews are ashlar coped, and there are corniced ashlar stacks at the gables with polygonal cans.
