Description

The Flywheel and Anvil, located on East Esplanade at East Clyde Street in Helensburgh, was created in 1912. This memorial features a cast iron flywheel and anvil from the ship Comet, arranged to commemorate Henry Bell, the designer of the ship, which was launched in 1812.
