49 Kirk Street, Campbeltown

49 Kirk Street in Campbeltown is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay symmetrical house with a rectangular plan. The exterior features roughcast walls with painted dressings, raised margins around openings, and projecting cills at the windows.

On the northeast (rear) elevation, there are three bays, with an external stair that has a brick and roughcast balustrade leading to the upper floor. The entrance door is centrally located, with a narrow window to the left.

The northwest (St John Street) elevation has a two-bay gable end, featuring windows only on the ground floor. The ground floor openings have modern glazing, while the principal front first-floor windows are fitted with plate glass timber sash and case windows. To the left of the rear entrance door, there is a four-pane timber sash and case window. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes cast-iron gutters and downpipes, along with yellow brick coped apex stacks and roughcast skew copes.

The boundary wall consists of random rubble along St John Street and Shore Street, topped with a concrete semicircular cope. There is also a vertically-boarded timber door on St John Street.
