54, 56 Kirk Street, Campbeltown

54 and 56 Kirk Street in Campbeltown is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house with a rectangular plan that has undergone later alterations. The building features painted, roughcast walls, a base course, raised margins around the openings, and projecting cills at the windows.

On the northeast elevation facing Kirk Street, there is an entrance door in the center flanked by windows, with a regular arrangement of windows on the first floor. The entrance door is a flush-beaded design with nine panels, although the lower panels have been replaced with vertical boarding.

The southeast elevation presents a blank, roughcast gable end. There is a concrete-covered stair with a wrought-iron handrail leading to the entrance porch of No 58, which is listed separately, along with a vennel underneath.

The house and side porch have modern glazing and grey slate roofs, which include modern rooflights, along with cast-iron gutters and downpipes. The stacks are roughcast and coped, featuring circular cans, although the skew copes have been removed.

To the left of the principal front, there is a roughcast wall that projects out, ending with square painted ashlar gatepiers. A hooped iron gate is positioned to the right of the entrance front.
