20-24 Columshill Street, Rothesay

20-24 Columshill Street in Rothesay is a pair of nearly symmetrical, two-storey houses with an attic, built in the mid-19th century and rehabilitated in 1983. These three-bay, plain classical style flatted houses are part of a terrace, with a pend entrance to No 22 located centrally at the ground level. The exterior is made of random rubble sandstone with raised, painted margins, and features tooled rubble sandstone quoins and surrounds around the openings, along with projecting cills. The sides are also finished in random rubble.

On the east elevation facing Columshill Street, there are replacement small-paned doors at the ground level in the penultimate bays of the outer left (No 24) and right (No 20), with single windows flanking them. No 22 has a small-paned door centered at the ground level. The first floor is regularly fenestrated across all bays, with three-light slate-hung canted dormers on the outer left and right bays.

The windows are 12-pane timber sash and case. The roof is covered with graded grey slate and features a raised skew to the south, a corniced rendered central ridge stack, and apex stacks to the north and south, along with various circular cans. The interior was not seen in 1996.
