Description
26 Kenmore Street in Aberfeldy is a pair of traditional houses built in the mid 19th century. The buildings are two stories tall and have six bays. The first floor is constructed of chlorite-slate rubble coursed on the south side, featuring large quoins, projecting cills, and slab lintels, while the rear is finished with dry-dash. No 26 has a ground floor lintel band course, and there is heavy harl-pointing in some areas.
The south elevation is symmetrical, with bays on the right side that include a part-glazed timber door at the center, flanked by windows, and regular fenestration on the first floor. The left side mirrors this arrangement.
The east elevation features a gabled design with a window on the right at ground level and a modern window above it.
On the west elevation, there is a window on the left side at each floor. The adjoining bays on the outer left, which belong to No 28, are not included in this listing.
The rear elevation has been altered and includes steps leading up to a door (No 22) on the left return of a projecting bay. The windows are timber sash and case, with 2-pane upper sashes over a plate glass glazing pattern. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there are coped ashlar stacks with some flues. The eaves overhang with plain bargeboarding.
