Description
Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey and 2-storey with attic, 7-bay pair of traditional houses with 2-storey houses adjoining at rear. Chlorite-slate rubble with large quoins and slab lintels; harled to rear.
NOS 37 AND 39:
N (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: near-symmetrical. Bays to right with corniced and pedimented doorpiece, modern timber door and letterbox fanlight, windows in flanking bays, regular fenestration to 1st floor and canted dormer windows over outer bays. Bays to left with modern door to centre, 2 windows to left and altered/enlarged window to right, 3 regularly-disposed windows to 1st floor.
E ELEVATION: gabled elevation with window to right at ground.
W ELEVATION: blank gabled elevation.
S ELEVATION: No 39 with French window to left and timber door with plate glass fanlight to right at ground, small window to right at 1st floor.
NOS 35 AND 41:
E ELEVATION: No 35 with variety of elements including door to centre, ground and 1st floor windows with modern hardwood frames and 4 large modern rooflights.
W ELEVATION: No 41 with variety of elements including timber porch and pedimented 1st floor windowheads breaking eaves.
S ELEVATION: M gable with modern conservatories at ground and enlarged windows above.
Mostly 4-pane and plate glass glazing patterns in timber sash and case windows. Grey slates, some graded early sections remaining. Coped ashlar stacks with some thackstanes and cans. Overhanging eaves with plain bargeboarding.
