Description
22A Suffolk Street in Helensburgh is a mid-19th century single-storey cottage with an attic and a three-bay layout, featuring an L-plan wing at the rear. The exterior is constructed from squared cream sandstone rubble, which is stugged and coursed on the south elevation, with ashlar dressings. Notable architectural details include a base course, raised margins, quoin strips, and overhanging bracketed eaves.
On the south elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a central doorway topped with a decorative timber canopy porch, flanked by windows. The west elevation, facing Suffolk Street, has two widely spaced 12-pane sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and features coped sandstone stacks. There is a flat-roofed slate-hung dormer at the center, with gabled dormers on either side to the south.
