Description
The Old Schoolhouse in Bellanoch is a mid to late 19th-century building that originally served as a school and schoolhouse. It features windows with two-centred arched pointed lights and has an asymmetrical two-storey façade facing the roadside, which is roughly three bays wide. The exterior is harled with ashlar dressings, and it includes relieving arches. There is a hood moulded door located towards the right side of the front, and a projecting chimney breast on the left that rises as a massive wallhead stack. On the first floor, three windows extend above the eaves and are topped with gabled dormerheads, displaying a horizontal glazing pattern. The building has coped stacks and a slate roof. Additionally, there is a doorway on the west side that appears secondary, along with a deeply-recessed porch, which likely provides separate access to the schoolhouse, and a rear wing.
