Description
The Old School House in Milton Abbas is a former school house dating from the mid-19th century. It features flint walls with some brick banding and dressings, topped by a tiled mansard roof that is half hipped at the left end and has an ornamental ridge. A brick stack is located on the ridge, slightly right of center. The building is designed in the Gothic Revival style and consists of two storeys.
There is a projecting wing, which may have served as a stair tower, featuring a mansard roof and a small window on each floor. To the right of this wing, there is a ledged door situated under a tiled pentice supported by shaped brackets. The ground floor includes two casement windows set beneath segmental brick arches. On the first floor, at the right end, there is one half dormer with casement windows under a pointed segmental arch and a projecting roof, along with two small casements located under the eaves.
