Description

Islandadd Bridge in Bellanoch was designed by engineer John Gardner in 1851. This cast-iron road bridge features five flat spans that are supported by rock-faced ashlar piers, which have cutwaters. Underneath, there are plain girders that support cross-girders, although these may not be original. The bridge also has slender cast-iron parapets and intersecting round-arched arcades that link the piers and abutments.
