Description

Circa 1905. Small single storey building in prominent position at W end of Castle Place. Finely pointed red brick with stone dressings. Battered base course. Architraved and long short margins. Raised brick quoins.

S (PRINCIPAL) ELEVATION: keystoned, depressed arch, 3-light window to left with timber mullions and transom. Round-arched doorway to right, ornately panelled door with integral fanlight.

W ELEVATION: 3-light, timber mullioned and transomed window to centre.

E ELEVATION: 2-light, timber mullioned and transomed window to centre.

N ELEVATION: blank wall.

Plate glass windows, upper lights multi-pane coloured glass. Grey slate roof, overhanging eaves, decorative terracotta ridge tiles with finials. Cast-iron rainwater goods.

BOUNDARY WALLS AND RAILINGS: low, coped wall to front with hooped wrought-iron railings continuing to Bridge Street.
