Tourist Office, Bridge Street, Montrose

The Tourist Office on Bridge Street in Montrose is a small single-storey building constructed around 1905, situated prominently at the west end of Castle Place. It features finely pointed red brick with stone dressings and has a battered base course. The building includes architraved details and raised brick quoins.

On the south elevation, there is a keystoned, depressed arch with a three-light window to the left, which has timber mullions and a transom. To the right, there is a round-arched doorway with an ornately panelled door and an integral fanlight. The west elevation has a centrally located three-light window with timber mullions and a transom. The east elevation features a two-light window, also with timber mullions and a transom. The north elevation is a blank wall.

The building has plate glass windows with upper lights made of multi-pane coloured glass. It is topped with a grey slate roof that has overhanging eaves and decorative terracotta ridge tiles with finials. Cast-iron rainwater goods are also present.

The boundary walls and railings consist of a low, coped wall at the front, with hooped wrought-iron railings extending to Bridge Street.
