Description

The walled garden at Ashludie, Monifieth, Dundee, was designed by James MacLaren in 1866. It features a flued brick wall with stone coping on the north, east, and west sides, which includes unusual string courses with tieing holes. The southern boundary is marked by a stone wall. At the north end, there is an extensive lean-to and gabled conservatory made of cast iron and timber frame. A cast-iron Doric column, set on a stone plinth, is positioned axially opposite at the south end.
