Traill Pavilion, Traill Drive, Montrose

Traill Pavilion, located on Traill Drive in Montrose, was built in 1913 as a single-storey beachside pavilion with a square plan. The exterior features multiple windows with segmental-arched heads and moulded panels, along with a projecting base course, cill course, and a cornice above the windows and at the wallhead. The building is finished with painted render.

The east elevation serves as the entrance front, featuring a verandah supported by square columns with segmental arches. It has three bays, with a pilastered doorway at the center flanked by windows, and additional bays on either side containing pilastered and mullioned bipartite windows. Above the doorway, "Traill Pavilion" is inscribed, and the windows have coloured multi-pane glazing with arched heads and decorative mouldings.

The north elevation consists of three bays formed by two bipartite windows and two additional windows set beneath segmental-arched moulded panels. The south elevation mirrors this layout with three bays, also featuring two bipartite windows and two windows beneath segmental-arched moulded panels, along with a crenellated corner tower on the left.

On the west elevation, there are ten windows beneath three segmental-arched heads, all with multi-pane glazing and mouldings above. This elevation also includes a crenellated corner tower to the right. The windows have etched glass lower lights and multi-pane upper lights, and the pavilion has a flat roof.

Inside, there is a timber screen on the west side featuring geometrical decorative glazing and coloured glass, along with slatted benches around the walls.
